Anandamakaranda is a digital library of the complete works of Śrīmadānandatīrtha Bhagavatpādācārya (Madhvācārya) — bhāṣyas, prakaraṇas, and ṭīkās — presented in a clean, readable format with support for multiple Indian scripts.
Reading the Texts
Script Switcher
Every page has a script selector in the toolbar at the top. You can read all texts in:
- Devanāgarī — the default Sanskrit script
- English — IAST romanisation with diacritics
- Kannada · Tamil — South Indian scripts
Your script choice is saved automatically and applies across all pages and browser tabs.
Font Size
Use the A− and A+ buttons in the toolbar to adjust the reading size. This preference is also saved.
Table of Contents
The sidebar on the left shows the full structure of each text:
- Adhyāyas (chapters) and Pādas (sections) at the top level
- Adhikaraṇas (topic groups) nested underneath
- Click any entry to jump directly to that section
- The active section is highlighted in orange as you scroll
Mūlam and Ullekha
Two navigation buttons appear at the top of the table of contents:
- Mūlam (मूलम्)
- Shows only the source verses. Useful for recitation or quick reference.
- Ullekha (उल्लेख)
- An index of all scriptural passages cited in the text, grouped by source. Clicking any citation jumps to that exact passage in the main text and highlights it.
Document Navigator
The 📚 button fixed at the bottom-right of every page opens a panel listing all available texts. Click any title to navigate there directly. You can also search within the list.
Comments and Bookmarks
Both features work on desktop and mobile.
Adding a Comment
- Select any passage of text — mouse on desktop, long-press on mobile.
- A small strip appears near the selection — click the 💬 icon.
- Type your comment and click Submit.
Bookmarks
- Select text and click the 🔖 icon in the strip.
- Give the bookmark a name and click Save.
Bookmarks are stored in your browser and persist across page reloads. They are private to your device and not shared. This is useful especially while reading long texts, where you can directly scroll to presaved bookmarks for quick reference.
Viewing Comments and Bookmarks
Click the 💬 button fixed at the bottom-right to open the panel. Clicking any card scrolls to the highlighted passage in the text.
